NEW YORK — In this video from the Infectious Diseases in Children Symposium, Tina Q. Tan, MD, FAAP, FIDSA, FPIDS, discusses the importance of pediatricians adopting new pneumococcal vaccines into practice to optimize patient coverage.
“What’s really exciting is that there are universal pneumococcal vaccines that are now in development, which would give us the opportunity to protect individuals against all pneumococcal serotypes that may be emerging,” said Tan, attending physician in pediatric infectious diseases at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and professor of pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.
